How to get rid of iTunes DRM copy protection

“How do I remove DRM from iTunes movies? I am curious because when I go and put it on my psp it says it is an unsupported and i know that Itunes has DRM and want know how to get rid of it”

Has this problem frustrated you too? If so, just follow the step by step guide below to learn how to get rid of iTunes DRM copy protection so as to play iTunes music and video on non-Apple players like PSP, PS3, Zune, BlackBerry, Creative Zen, import iTunes music and video into Windows Movie Maker project, and even burn iTunes movies to DVD.

Step 1. Add iTunes music/video files

Click the movie button to load iTunes music/video files to this program. You can also directly drag and drop iTunes music/video files to the left main window.

Click drop- down menus of “Profile” to choose the format you want and click drop-down menu of “Output” to set the destination folder for saving output files.

Step 3. Video clip and edit (optional)

Click the scissors button on the toolbar to clip videos. Set the start time & end time to get multiple clips as you like.

How to convert protected iTunes M4V movies to Plain MP4 AVI WMV DVD

The movies and TV shows downloaded from iTunes Store are DRM-laden, which prohibits us from further use of our own downloaded movies. For example, it won’t allow us to share the movies with other computers, burn the iTunes purchased movies to DVD or play the iTunes movies on any portable player other than Apple iPod and iPhone. Therefore, the following article is going to show you how to bypass iTunes DRM restriction and convert iTunes protected M4V movies to plain MP4 AVI WMV MPEG files for further sharing or burn to DVD for backup, enhancement and playback on home DVD players.

The only program we need is Media Converter Ultimate, which can be used to remove iTunes DRM protection, convert DRM protected iTunes M4P/M4V to plain MP3/WMA/MP4/AVI/WMV, burn iTunes purchased movies and TV shows to DVD, etc.

How to Strip DRM off iTunes M4V Movies TV Shows and Burn to DVD

The following article will share with you how to strip DRM off protected iTunes purchased M4V movies and TV shows and burn to DVD for backup, enhancement or playback on traditional TV sets, home DVD players with Media Converter Ultimate.

Step 1. Download Media Converter Ultimate, install and run it. ( free download )

Media Converter Ultimate combines into one prgram the functions of DRM Remover, DVD Creator, DVD Ripper, Media Converter, Media Transfer, etc. It is fully compatible with Windows XP, Vista (including 64 Bit) and Windows 7.

Step 2. Strip DRM off iTunes purchased movies and TV shows

Click the “Add” button to load iTunes media. iTunes movies and TV shows are usually located in the Movies and TV Shows folders under *:\My Documents\My music\iTunes\iTunes Music. After making some necessary settings, click the “Start” button to begin the conversion.

How to Remove iTunes DRM on Windows and Mac?

There are many ways of removing iTunes DRM. On Windows, you can remove DRM from iTunes by ripping and burning a CD disc. Or you can turn to some DRM Removal Software like Daniusoft Media Converter Pro. On Mac OS X, iMovie is already the perfect freeware for removing DRM from iTunes music. So the following article is dedicated to introducing several methods of removing DRM from iTunes music/video on Windows and Mac.

Part 1. Remove DRM from iTunes music by ripping and burning a CD disc (Win & Mac)

1. Insert a CD-R or CD-RW disc into your CD-ROM drive.

2. Burn DRM iTunes music to make an Audio CD. You cannot select the MP3 CD option since it requires the DRM protected iTunes music be converted to MP3.

3. After the Audio CD is successfully burned, insert the disc into your CD-ROM drive again. Then you can use iTunes to import the music tracks on the burned disc as MP3 files.

Part 2. Remove DRM from iTunes music/video using Media Converter Pro (Win)

1. Download Media Converter Pro, install and launch it. ( Free Download )

Run iMovie and create a New Project.

Select the DRM-laden song and drag the file from the media browser into the iMovie timeline.

In order to export the song, iMovie requires that a visual image be associated with the audio track – iMovie thinks that it is going to be exporting a movie. Simply drag a blank image (or any other image) to the track above the previously imported audio file. Once iMovie has processed the image, select the ‘Export using QuickTime…’ sub menu item from found inside ‘Share’ in iMovie’s menu bar.

In the Save as… dialogue, select “Sound to AIFF” in the Export drop-down menu, Choose an appropriate directory for iMovie to export to, title the file, and select ‘Save’.

Locate the exported AIFF audio file and drag to your iTunes Library. Right-click on the file and select “Create MP3 Version”. Once completed, ‘Get Info’ on the new file, edit meta data, add album art, and trash the originally purchased and AIFF audio files from your iTunes library.

Note: This method can only be use to remove DRM from iTunes music files.

How to legally remove DRM from iTunes music

If you wish to play your iTunes music that you purchased from the iTunes Store on another device like a BlackBerry, you will likely have to remove the DRM protection from the file. You can do this for 30 cents per song. Finding the place to do this took me a while, so I thought I’d share it.

1. Go into the iTunes store.

2. In the area marked Quick Links, click the Upgrade to iTunes Plus link.

3. You will provided with a list of songs you can upgrade to DRM free for 30 cents.
