How to copy/backup/burn DVD on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard)

The following step by step guide will show you how to burn DVD on Mac, backup DVD on Mac, and even copy D9 to D5 on Mac (Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard) using iSkysoft DVD Copy Pro for Mac.

Step 1. Run DVD Copy Pro for Mac and Insert DVD as Indicated

Download iSkysoft DVD Copy Pro for Mac. Free Download

Launch DVD Copy Pro. The program will indicate you to insert DVD disc. And the main interface will turn around after detecting the inserted DVD disc.

DVD Copy Pro shows the DVD movie name at the top and lists all titles in your DVD with Duration and Size.

Step 2. Select DVD Copy Method

If you insert D9 disc, you can choose the D9 to D5 compression option to burn D9 disc to D5 disc.

Note: the option can not be chosen if inserted DVD is D5 disc

There are four output options for you to burn your DVD:

DVD Disc: Directly burn DVD to the blank disc as backup
VITEO_TS: Copy DVD to DVD folder to save in your hard disk on Mac
.dvdmedia: Burn into a format which can be directly played in DVD Player on Mac
ISO: Copy DVD to ISO file saved on Mac making better management of your DVD movies

After simple tips, click Start button to begin burning.

Step 3. Finish the DVD Settings

After clicking start button, you need to finish some settings before burning DVD disc.

Type in the DVD name for the new disc

Choose DVD Rom to burn the disc if there is more than one DVD driver connected with your Mac.

Choose the copy speed and quantity according to your own need.

Step 4. Start Copying DVD

When the setting finished, DVD Copy Pro will start burning DVD and save the data to a temperate file. After burning, the program starts encoding DVD and will inform you to insert a suitable blank DVD disc.

Then you can surf website or listen to the music and check the icon progress bar sometimes. The program will inform you the completion of burning later.

Now you can enjoy your DVD movies with new disc and save the other one as collector’s edition.
